Have Questions? We’ve Got Answers.
Will the project harm Yabucoa’s wetlands and environment?
No. The project complies with all local and federal environmental protection laws and regulations. Specific measures have been taken to avoid any impact on wetlands, and the land has been carefully delineated. Additionally, native shrubs will be planted to enhance the wetland ecosystem.
Will the Yabucoa community benefit from the project?
Yes. The project will create up to 120 local jobs during the construction phase and include training programs to develop specialized technical skills. Additionally, a community agricultural program is being developed in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico.

Will the solar park provide energy directly to Yabucoa?
While the energy generated will be distributed through the island’s electrical grid, the solar park’s capacity will help stabilize Yabucoa’s electricity supply, supporting the region’s energy self-sufficiency.
Will the installation of solar panels create a lot of noise?
During construction, measures will be taken to minimize noise. Once operational, the solar park will generate very little noise, as solar energy is one of the quietest forms of electricity production.
Will the solar park be safe during hurricanes?
Yes. The solar park’s design has been rigorously evaluated to meet Puerto Rico’s construction standards, ensuring its resilience to adverse weather conditions, including hurricanes.
Will the solar project increase electricity costs?
No. While electricity rates are set by regulators, the project will reduce dependency on fossil fuels, which will help stabilize prices in the long term.
Will the jobs created by the project be temporary?
No. In addition to creating jobs during construction, Infinigen Renewables will offer training programs that enable residents to acquire specialized skills and access long-term employment in the clean energy sector.
Will the construction of the solar park affect local traffic?
A traffic management plan has been developed to minimize any impact during construction, ensuring efficient handling of local routes.
Will the solar park reduce the value of nearby properties?
No. Studies show that well-managed solar parks do not negatively affect property values. In fact, improved infrastructure and economic opportunities can increase property values.
